Since 2010, access to drinking water has been recognized as a fundamental right by the UN. CASTALIE this belief since its creation. For nine years, we have relied on the municipal water network, a wonderful resource that we are fortunate to have access to throughout our country.

That is why today, on Human Rights Day, CASTALIE with the Dutch foundation Made Blue campaigns for access to drinking water, particularly in Africa: on December 10, for every liter of CASTALIE water CASTALIE in France, 150 liters of drinking water will be donated in Ethiopia! This financial donation will provide 7,500,000 liters of drinking water to the regions of Addis Ababa, Afar, and Oromia. This project will be made possible thanks to Made Blue close collaboration in the field Made Blue Amref Health Africa, the largest NGO in the health sector in Africa.

CASTALIE the Made Blue foundation Made Blue several reasons. First, the breadth of its scope of action. The Ethiopian project "Drinking water: access for all," to which CASTALIE contributes, CASTALIE several missions: technical (creating access to drinking water through the construction and installation of pipelines, boreholes, cisterns, and water purification equipment) and educational (prevention work on hygiene and sanitation among local populations).

In addition, Made Blue with local partners who provide long-term assistance to communities and enable them to train others in turn. The equipment used relies solely on locally available resources: labor, materials, and expertise.

Finally, Made Blue a very accurate traceability system for managing its donations. Each financial contributor receives a certificate identifying the number of liters of drinking water generated by their donation.

The desire to make a meaningful impact and the use of local resources that respect people and the environment: two values that CASTALIE deeply CASTALIE with Made Blue, and which we are proud to implement, especially today!

About Made Blue

Since its inception in 2014, the Made Blue Foundation Made Blue raised €1 million from its ambassadors. These funds are allocated to various water access projects, whose priority is assessed based on their impact and effectiveness. As a result, in early 2019, the threshold of 5 billion liters of drinking water produced in different parts of the world where it is most needed was reached.

The foundation works with local partners who have been present and active in communities for decades: Amref Health Africa in Kenya and Ethiopia, World Vision in Senegal, Simavi in Bangladesh and Vietnam . The projects use only locally available knowledge, labor, and materials.  This has two positive effects: on the one hand, the creation of value benefits local economies. On the other hand, the know-how and tools remain available locally in case of need (repair or expansion of the system).

Made Blue great importance to transparency in its actions: that is why we publish certificates for each financial contributor . Thanks to highly detailed traceability, we are able to identify the precise impact of a donation on the number of liters of drinking water generated. External audits are carried out each year to assess the total volume of drinking water produced in partner countries.
