CASTALIE, a player in the circular economy
plastic bottles avoided since the beginning of the project. And we’re just getting started!
The circular economy in a few words
Being part of the circular economy means designing your business model to limit waste and reduce your environmental impact, while increasing your efficiency throughout the product life cycle.
The 7 pillars of the circular economy at CASTALIE
Since its creation, CASTALIE’s business model has incorporated the 7 foundational pillars of the circular economy as we strive to rethink the way we produce and consume.
Extended service life
Our dispensers are built to last. They are painstakingly repaired and refurbished in our workshops, to ensure a lifespan of 8 years.
Sustainable procurement
The vast majority of our components come from Europe. We favour high-quality, recyclable materials, such as stainless steel and glass.
Eco-design
The entire PURE range was designed with the CETIM, in accordance with the NF E01-005 standard. The lifespan of our dispensers is optimised through refurbishment, giving them a new lease on life!
Recycling
When our dispensers reach the end of their service life, viable components are collected for reuse. The rest is sent to specialised factories to recycle as many components as possible.
Industrial and local ecology
CASTALIE relies on local partners to carry out its operations in France:
– Eco-friendly deliveries in Île-de-France with Ecolotrans
– Networks of technicians spread throughout France
– Filtration kits assembled by Yvonne Wendling, a vocational training centre in Issy-les-Moulineaux, just a stone’s throw from our warehouse.
Servicing
CASTALIE dispensers are offered under a rental contract, along with maintenance and refurbishment services. This allows us to monitor our dispensers from A to Z, and to extend their lifespan as much as possible.
Responsible consumption
We help all of our customers to improve their environmental footprint by encouraging them to eliminate single-use plastic with reusable containers and on-site dispensers, while providing them with high-quality water.
The life cycle of a CASTALIE dispenser
For 11 years, we have worked hard to offer you the most eco-friendly dispenser possible.

Life cycle analysis (LCA) allows us to fully assess the environmental impacts of a product or a service. It also allows us to identify the main sources of emissions and take steps to reduce their harmful effects on the environment.
What are the benefits of CASTALIE water?
In 2018, we conducted an LCA with EKODEV* in order to compare the impact of dispensers with other current alternatives.
(The results show the impact of 1 L of water in grams of CO2):
*This study only takes into account the impacts related to greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e), and does not take into account impacts on water consumption, soil pollution or other forms of ecotoxicity.
